Since 1985.

In 1985 Filippo La Spina commenced operating winery tours on the Granite Belt when the Granite Belt was little known, especially for producing wine. He pioneered winery tours in Queensland doing the tours himself as well as preparing the meals himself to serve to his guests for lunch. Over the years Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt grew with more wineries opening with Filippos also growing.

In 2000, Filippo sold his flourishing business to one of his staff, an Irishman by the name of Tony Hannigan. Tony and his sister Anne operated Filippos Tours for the next seventeen years. Tony and Anne not only provided winery tours of the Granite Belt but they also expanded, operating tours all over Australia to other wine regions and even the outback.

Fast forward to 2017 when Burt and Bec Lancaster who had fallen in love with the Granite Belt whilst visiting for their honeymoon, were looking for somewhere to retire when they finished their intense careers in law enforcement. They stumbled across Tony and Filippos being for sale, became friends and decided to buy Filippos, for Burt to start an early retirement, so to speak, and turn their passion for Queensland wine into a full time occupation, taking over Filippos in 2018.

In 2022 Bec & Burt decided to take on Stanthorpe Tours which had a loyal group of followers, but the business had been languishing for a few years. They were given the opportunity to purchase Stanthorpe tours and jumped at it because of their passion for the Granite Belt and Queensland wine. They wanted to show as many people they can, what Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt has to offer. At 1000 metres elevation, Stanthorpe has the perfect conditions for wine production.
